Reporting a problem from the app

On your Apple TV, open Settings → About → Report a Problem. Currents shows a support code and a QR code you can scan with your phone to start an email. Including that support code lets us match your message to the technical diagnostics for the exact event. It's by far the fastest way to get something fixed.

Common questions

Do I need a Plex server of my own?

You need access to one: your own server, or a library someone has shared with you. Currents doesn't host or provide any media. It builds channels out of what your Plex account can already play.

Can I pause or rewind?

No, and that's deliberate. Currents is built to feel like live television, so the schedule runs whether or not you're watching. If you step away for twenty minutes, you've missed twenty minutes. When you want to pick something specific and control it, the Plex app is the better tool.

How do I choose which channels I get?

Currents builds the lineup from your library automatically. In Settings → Channels you can turn any channel off, rename it, renumber it, and drag the lineup into whatever order you like. Disabled channels disappear from the guide and from surfing.

I added new media. When does it show up?

Currents checks your library when the app cold-launches, when you use Refresh Library in Settings, and when you come back after a long time away. New content is added to the schedule going forward. It never rewrites airtime the guide has already shown you.

A program showed "This program is unavailable."

That means Currents couldn't play that particular file. Usually that's a moved or deleted file, or a server that's busy or unreachable. The channel keeps its schedule and the next program starts on time. You can press Retry, or surf to another channel.

Playback keeps stalling.

Currents automatically asks your server for a lighter stream when it detects repeated stalling, and climbs back up once the connection proves it can carry more. If it's persistent, try setting a lower ceiling in Settings → Playback → Streaming Quality. A wired Apple TV, or a server with hardware transcoding, makes the biggest difference.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. On your Apple TV go to Settings → Users and Accounts → your account → Subscriptions, or manage them from any iPhone, iPad, or Mac signed in to the same Apple Account. Deleting Currents does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are issued by Apple, not by Wave Labs.

What happens to my channels if I stop subscribing?

They stay exactly as you left them. Your Plex connection, lineup, channel order, renames, numbering, and preferences are all kept on the device, so if you come back later you don't have to rebuild anything.

Currents is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Plex, Inc. For problems with your Plex server itself, Plex's own support is the right place to start.
