Privacy Policy

Currents has no account system and no Wave Labs media servers. It is designed to work directly between your Apple TV, Plex, and Apple's App Store. This policy explains what is stored, what is sent where, and what Wave Labs LLC can and cannot see.

1. Information Stored on Your Apple TV

Currents stores your Plex token in the Apple Keychain. Your generated channels and preferences are stored locally on your Apple TV: lineup order, renames, enabled state, numbering, the last tuned channel, guide and playback preferences, break settings, and the schedule records that keep your channels airing on time across restarts and app updates. If your Plex account uses Plex Home profiles, this setup is kept separately per profile.

A small on-device summary of what's airing is shared with the app's Top Shelf extension so the Apple TV Home screen can show what's on; it never leaves the device. Currents also remembers your server's addresses, including its local network address, so playback can continue when your internet connection fails.

2. Services Currents Contacts

Currents connects to plex.tv and your selected Plex server to link your account, discover your libraries, build channels, retrieve media information and artwork, and play your media. Those communications are governed by Plex's policies and your Plex configuration.

Currents communicates with Apple's App Store to display subscription options, complete purchases, restore purchases, and verify subscription access. Apple handles payment information under Apple's policies; Wave Labs never sees it.

3. Technical Diagnostics

Currents uses Sentry to receive technical diagnostics: crash reports, performance measurements, controlled reliability logs and metrics, and fully masked replays associated only with actionable errors. This information is used to operate, improve, and support Currents, and may be processed in the United States. It is retained for a limited period.

Diagnostics are engineered to exclude your personal media life. Currents does not send Wave Labs your Plex token, server addresses, library contents, media titles, generated lineup, viewing history, or subscription payment information. There is no advertising SDK and no behavioral product analytics.

When you choose Report a Problem, the support code and Sentry event identifier in your email intentionally connect that user-initiated message with its technical diagnostic event, so we can find exactly what happened to you.

4. Information Wave Labs Does Not Collect or Sell

Currents does not collect your Plex library or viewing activity for advertising, audience measurement, or behavioral profiling. Wave Labs does not sell personal information, and does not share it for advertising.

5. Children

Currents is not directed at children and has no account system. What can be watched through Currents is governed by your own Plex libraries and by the restriction settings of Plex and Apple.

6. Retention and Control

Local setup is intentionally preserved if a trial or subscription ends, so you can return without rebuilding your channels. Signing out removes the Plex token; deleting the application removes Currents' local app data. Plex account access can also be revoked through Plex. To ask about, or request deletion of, diagnostics connected to a support report you sent, email support@mycurrents.app.

7. Security

Currents uses Apple's Keychain for the Plex token and relies on the security controls provided by tvOS, Plex, and the App Store. No system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as Currents changes. An updated policy will be made available with the application or on this website.
